Lodge History
Born on the Base
In April 1969, a small group of Master Masons stationed at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, discussed the possibility of establishing a lodge on the facility. Their vision became reality on June 21, 1969, when Dover Air Force Base Military Lodge No. 28 was chartered.
From its base in Delaware, the lodge helped expand Prince Hall Masonry across multiple continents and produced significant Grand Lodge leadership, proof of the bond between service to country and service to the Craft.
